Map materials to body zones
Choose material after defining the job. Compare composition, knit structure, weight, stretch by direction, recovery, opacity, air permeability, moisture behavior, abrasion, pilling, dimensional stability, colorfastness, and skin feel. A soft hand on a hanger does not prove recovery or durability.

Define compression carefully
"Compression" can describe anything from a close fit to a product with measured pressure. Unless the product is developed and supported for a specific claim, describe observable fit and support honestly. Engineer fit for movement
Create a movement protocol before the first fit session. It should include the activity's deepest squat, lunge, reach, rotation, stride, jump, or inversion. Observe waist position, hem travel, strap shift, neckline coverage, gusset placement, seam pressure, and pocket security.
